Kia showcased a possible rival for the Nissan Juke compact-crossover this week at the Geneva Motor Show, features funky styling, a turbocharged engine and one extra trick up it’s sleeve: a hybrid powertrain.

Although just a concept, the two-door Kia Provo will prove to be a serious competitor to the polarizing Nissan Juke, should Kia put this vehicle into production. Featuring a combined 250-hp from a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder engine and a 45-hp electric motor, is sure to be a fun-to-drive, small and capable crossover. That extra capability comes from a four-wheel drive system, which doesn’t take away from the Provo’s fuel efficiency. Thanks to its hybrid powertrain, the Provo is capable of low speed electric-only range, by sending power to the rear wheels.

It’s difficult to say if this concept will ever reach a production vehicle, but Kia has proven with the Optima Hybrid, that it isn’t afraid to make a hybrid vehicle. With its unique styling, and long check-list of tech-goodies, the Provo would prove to be an interesting vehicle should it come to fruition. Check out the video below for more on the Kia Provo.
