BMW is giving both the new 2 Series Coupe and the X5 SUV a slight power boost and some exterior enhancements thanks to a set of M performance parts for each vehicle.
A small power boost is available for the 220d diesel-powered model that pushes the output to 200 hp and 309 lb-ft of torque. For the gas-powered 235i, BMW offers an exhuast silencer which tunes the note to be a “striking, sports-style sound.”
Handling on the 235i will be enhanced thanks to an available limited-slip differential, along with a suspension setup that includes a 20mm drop, revised dampers and shortened coil springs.
For appearances, M performance fits the 235i with 19-inch wheels along with painted brake calipers. Completing the look are aerodynmamic enhancements such as a new front apron, rear spoiler, rear diffuser and a revised nose with new air ducting.
As for the larger X5, M performance offers a power bump up to 326 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque thanks to a modified ECU. The throttle is also revised to be sharper and a retuned exhaust note completes the package.
Aerodynamics are upped on this SUV as well thanks to a new front splitter, side sills, rear apron and more. The interior also gets some M performance touches to complete the overall package.
