A surprise debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the production Audi TT was overshadowed by a concept version of the car showcasing the potential of the new model.

While customers will soon be able to order a 320-hp TT-S, the not-yet-for-sale TT quattro sport concept, “embodies the dynamic potential of the new Audi TT in its purest form,” by delivering an astonishing 210 hp per liter of displacement.

With a turbocharged 2.0-ltier 4-cylidner under the hood, that results in 420 hp total. Full power is available at 6700 rpm, while torque of 332 lb-ft comes on from just 2400 rpm all the way up to 6300 rpm. Better yet, a full 221 lb-ft is available as of just 1900 rpm.

Combined in a package that weights just 2,963 lbs, the TT quattro sport concept can hit 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds.

While the car is naturally light due to its new platform, additional weight has been shed by stripping the interior of unnecessary components like armrests and speakers.

A racing-inspired cockpit, the cabin features motorsports-style door pulls and four-point harnesses, with space in the trunk for two racing helmets. There’s also a flat-bottom steering wheel with the ignition button in bright red on it, while the gauges are fully digital on a 12.3-inch display.

The design of the concept car is more dramatic than the production version with a larger grille and huge side air intakes as well as 30mm flared fenders and big 20-inch wheels. Plus, there’s slick carbon fiber accenting like the front splitter and a big rear spoiler.

“With our Audi TT quattro sport concept show car, we wanted to demonstrate what the new TT’s technology can do if you take it a step further,” explains Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development. “This car is designed for racing – an extreme driving machine for the motorsports enthusiasts among our customers.”
