Chevy’s Corvette Z06 packs great looks and ridiculous performance, and now it can be had without a roof.

The Corvette Z06 has traditionally been a manual-only model sold only as a coupe, but GM is breaking tradition this year by offering the car without a roof and with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Chevy says the roof will retract at speeds up to 30 mph.

Although cars without roofs are usually a little less stiff, Chevy says that the 3.5 second 0-60 mph sprint time is maintained at 3.5 seconds. That jump is made possible by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that sends “at least” 625 hp and 635 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Buyers can also choose the Z07 performance package which adds on all sorts of aerodynamic enhancements, better tires and carbon ceramic brakes.
