LaFerrari Rumored to Have Caught Fire in Italy

Car fires almost seem inevitable, but a million-dollar exotic catching on fire isn’t the same thing.

A Ferrari LaFerrari sporting a burnt rear end has surfaced in Italy after participating in the Trento-Bondone Hill Climb. The photo, which was posted on Instagram, wasn’t accompanied with any information so this could be an event where the vehicle itself wasn’t on fire. Unfortunately with the abundance of fires happening to high-end sports cars, it’s hard not to assume the worst in this case.

Take the Porsche 911 GT3 for example: no one would think such a prestigious automaker with decades of experience building sports cars would suddenly run into fire issues, but that’s exactly what happened. This isn’t the first time a Ferrari has been connected to a fire either. When the 458 Italia first launched in 2010, five vehicles were reported to have caught on fire and Ferrari blames exhaust that was too hot for the issue. Given that this LaFerrari also has a smoky rear end, that problem might have surfaced yet again.
