Honda is at the center of attention today at the 2015 New York Auto Show, revealing a next-generation Civic concept and revealing that the Civic Type R hot hatch will eventually make its way to America. Of course, today is also April Fools’ Day and while we can sympathize with those that say “we’ll believe it when we see it” when it comes to the Civic Type R, it’s not a joke.

What is a joke from Honda is its HR-V SLF edition that features “hands-free selfie technology – another first from Honda.” The Japanese automaker has outfitted its new crossover with 10 cameras across the interior and exterior, allowing its owner to take as many self-portraits as they want, no matter where they go.

Nissan GYM Button

Nissan also jumped in on the fun, introducing the “GYM” button for its X-Trail and Qashqai models for those that are looking to shed a few pounds from their bodies. When the GYM button is pressed, the driver assistance systems will allow “commuters to get their very own workout at the wheel” by deactivating the self-parking system and shutting down power steering and power windows. Nissan even went so far as to say the GYM function also increases resistance in the accelerator, brake and clutch pedals because who in their right mind skips leg day?

BMW Mouth Guard

Instead of showing off a silly car or concept, BMW unveiled… get ready, the Ultimate Rugby Mouth Guard. Yep, expanding on building the Ultimate Driving Machines, BMW has entered a whole new market and demonstrates the latest mouth guard technology with Chris Robshaw, an English rugby player. You can also catch a video of that goodness below.

Mercedes Sprinter63 S

Then there’s Mercedes-AMG that believes its next hot new model should be the Sprinter63 S, because who never wanted 503 hp under the hood of a utilitarian van. In fact, the German automaker really went all-in with this joke, creating a render that looks so realistic, dealerships might be wondering what’s going on when customers are waiting in line to give a deposit.

Clarkson to Top Gear USA

Lastly, other media outlets were out to trick their readers… Carscoops might have managed to fool quite a number of people by reporting that Jeremy Clarkson is heading over to Top Gear USA, but believe us that’s not happening. You see, Top Gear USA is created by BBC Worldwide and it’s highly unlikely, no let’s make that impossible, for the company to simply shift Clarkson over to the U.S. and pretend the fracas never happened.
