Ferrari is paying homage to its success at the Tour de France with a limited edition, hardcore F12tdf model.
Only 799 units of the car will be built, and the car is a throwback to the famous endurance race that the Italian automaker dominated in the 1950s and ’60s with its 1956 250 GT Berlinetta.
Based on the F12 Berlinetta, the lightweight tdf model sheds about 243 pounds and is powered by a tweaked version of the 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V12. Output is up 40 horsepower over the standard F12, totalling a massive 770 hp and 520 pound-feet of torque. Power makes it to the road via an F1 DCT that upshifts 30 percent faster and downshifts 40 percent faster.

With its weight loss and power increase, Ferrari says the F12tdf will accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds. The car also has a rear-wheel steering system that makes the steering more responsive and makes the car quicker and more stable at high cornering speeds. Ferrari also says the F12tdf gets an 87 percent increase in downforce for superior cornering.
The F12tdf also gets upgraded brakes, using the same one-piece calipers seen on the LaFerrari
Special attention was also paid to the F12tdf’s aerodynamics, with the special edition boasting an aerodynamic efficiency figure of 1.6, more than double that of the standard F12. The aerodynamic upgrades also give the F12tdf a more aggressive appearance and differentiates it even further from the standard F12.
