The Genesis G80 and G80 Sport models were introduced at the 2016 Busan Motor Show.
Hyundai’s luxury sub-brand showed off its second of six promised models set to launch by 2020 and although the G80 at first glance looks just like the current Hyundai Genesis sedan, there are some differences. Compared to the current 2016 Hyundai Genesis sedan sold in the U.S., the G80 that made its debut at the Busan Motor Show has a slight facelift with a more refined front end, grille and slightly different headlights. But the big news is the introduction of the Genesis G80 Sport.
Powered by the same 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque found in the G90, the Genesis G80 Sport also has a different appearance with sportier bumpers, a quad-exhaust setup and a mesh grille that really changes sedan’s personality. An eight-speed automatic transmission will be standard on both models and the standard Genesis G80 will get a familiar 3.8-liter V6 engine with 311 hp and 293 lb-ft of torque.

U.S. shoppers will also have the option of grabbing a 5.0-liter V8 with 420 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque and you can expect numerous luxurious features to be standard as the Genesis sub-brand looks to complete on a different level than Hyundai.
Expect more details on the Genesis G80 that is heading to the U.S. when it makes its North American debut later this year.
