bentley bentayga biometric stowage

Chances are if you’re driving a Bentley Bentayga, your vehicle isn’t the only expensive thing in your possession.

The British automaker’s personal commissioning division, Mulliner, has created a biometric stowage unit for the Bentayga, giving customers additional peace of mind. The stowage unit features capacitive fingerprint sensor technology, similar to what can be found on modern smartphones. The tech has been applied to a high pressure die-cast aluminum secure stowage unit found in the cabin and is the ideal place to store valuables while away from the vehicle.

The unit also features two USB ports and an auxiliary socket, so it can be used for connecting and charging mobile devices both inside and outside of storage. Like other products developed by Mulliner, no pricing was announced for the biometric stowage unit. But we’re guessing Bentayga owners aren’t going to care what it costs for that extra security for their precious items.

“The Mulliner Biometric Secure Stowage unit is hidden from view,” said Uday Senapati, Mulliner’s head of technical operations. “We are incorporating the familiar capacitive fingerprint sensor technology from smartphones that can store multiple fingerprints, allowing the user to control who accesses their valuables.”
