Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, the American automaker headed up by filmmaker and financier James Glickenhaus, has shown off renderings of its next car – the sexily named SCG006.

The SCG006, also referred to as the Glickenhaus Spyder, looks like a 1960s era sports car, evoking famous designs such as the Shelby Cobra Daytona and Ferrari 250 Spyder. The automaker is staying tight-lipped in regards to official details on the SCG006, but the renderings show that it will be available in both coupe and convertible form and offered with or without racing stripes.

AutoGuide recently found a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration VIN decoder guide for SCG’s myriad of upcoming vehicles, including the SCG004 three-seater supercar, the SCG005 Baja Boot recreation and the retro-themed SCG006. The document, which is available to read in full here, indicates that track-ready ‘Competizione Stradale’ versions of all three vehicles will be offered – including the SCG006 shown above. It also lists two engines that will be in its stable going forward: a 700 hp 4.4-liter V8 and a 650 hp 6.2-liter V8.

The 4.4-liter V8, sourced from BMW, was already used by SCG in the SCG003S supercar, where it made 750 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. It may be used in the SCG004 as well, albeit in slightly restrained 700 hp form. It was previously reported the SCG004 would tap the 3.8-liter V6 from the R35 Nissan GT-R, but perhaps plans have changed. As for the 6.2-liter engine that appears in the VIN document, we wouldn’t be surprised if it was one of General Motors’ venerable Small Blocks. It’s hard to which engine will end up in which car at this point, but it should become clear shortly.

Stay tuned for more information on the throwback SCG006 and its oddball stablemates, the three-seater SCG004 and SCG005 Baja Boot SUV, as it becomes available.
