First Lexus LFA Owner Meet Draws $6M Worth of Cars

Which supercar owner event is the coolest so far of 2012? Easily the first-ever LFA owner’s meet that took place today at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca – eat your heart out Gumball 3000.

The event attracted 16 LFA owners to the track today – or in pure dollar terms, $6 million in Lexus exotics. In case you’ve somehow missed it, the LFA is a limited-run supercar sporting a 4.8-liter V10 with a screaming 9,000 rpm redline and 553 hp.

Built in a limited production run, the car doesn’t come cheap with a $375,000 price tag without the special Nurburgring package.

With less than two years of production completed, the car is almost entirely sold out, though only 150 units were made available in the U.S. Prospective buyers were allowed to start making offers in late 2009, and by the time the car was read, Lexus hired race driver Scott Pruett to take interested clients for track demonstrations.
