Ford is joining Toyota in helping Hurricane Sandy victims, offering savings off the American automaker’s vehicles while contributing to the American Red Cross.

Ford is kicking off an offer that will be valid until January 2nd, 2013 where consumers impacted by the storm have an opportunity to receive $500 of Ford bonus cash toward the purchase of a new Ford or Lincoln vehicle.

In addition, the Ford Motor Credit Company is kicking in its Disaster Relief Program where qualified customers can delay one or two months worth of payments, resuming their regular payment schedules when their situation improves.

The automaker’s employees and the Ford Motor Company Fund are also contributing $50,000 to the American Red Cross and its local chapters for areas impacted by the storm.

Customers will be sent postcards with information on how to delay payments, while those looking to save on a new vehicle won’t be able to take advantage of a Mustang Shelby GT, GT500, Mustang Boss, Focus Electric, Edge SE AWD, F-150 SVT Raptor, and Taurus SE.

“Severe weather has ravaged the East Coast and the loss in personal property as a result is enormous,” stated Curt Skaluba, East Region manager of Sales, Parts and Service Operations for Ford Motor Company. “To help with the recovery, Ford is pleased to announce a special offer to help those in need replace vehicles destroyed by this devastating storm.”
