Ahead of an official launch at the New York Auto Show next week, Jeep is showing-off just how capable its new Cherokee model is in a point-of view video teaser.
Competing in the hot mid-size crossover segment, Jeep hopes to win over buyers by offering true off-road performance and “best-in-class capability,” while at the same time delivering, “exemplary on-road driving dynamics.”
The replacement of the Liberty, the oddly-styled Cherokee is expected to be offered with a down-sized version of the Chrysler 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, instead displacing 3.2-liters. To further improve on fuel economy (up to 45 percent compared to the Liberty) it will boast an industry-first 9-speed automatic transmission.
