As Mitsubishi ponders a new sedan and SUV for the North American marketplace, in the more immediate future it will announce the return of the Mirage model.
According to reports, the Mirage sub-compact hatchback will make its US debut at the New York Auto Show next week. Designed to be a model for those who put a priority on price. It’s also expected to be thrifty to own, with a tiny 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine under the hood making a very low 79 hp.

Based on a new light weight platform the car tips the scales at as little as just 1,862 lbs – in Euro-spec trim.
As for the look, it’s undeniably plain, though that’s the result of aerodynamics, with the Mirage being the slipperiest sub-compact available.
