BMW is working on the next generation of M3 and the newly minted M4 (essentially an M3 Coupe), and today the brand released a teaser video that lets us hear the new engine at work.
The motor heard in the video is a turbocharged straight six that is said to put out around 450 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. That should make both of these cars capable of a 0-60 mph run in about 4 seconds.
In terms of looks, BMW has already shown off a 4 Series Coupe fitted with M Sport goodies (seen above), which will likely look pretty close to the production M4.

Performance is also enhanced on these cars thanks to weight loss, an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential, lower and stiffer suspension, wider wheels and tires, upgraded brakes, and improved aerodynamics.
Set for a debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, it is also possible that a concept version of the M3/M4 could arrive later on this week in Pebble Beach.
