2015 Honda Fit Detailed

The next-generation Honda Fit has been officially announced for Japan boasting class-leading fuel economy for both its gasoline and hybrid variants.

Now into its third generation, the standard Fit will be powered by an all-new 1.3-liter gasoline engine for those that are looking to conserve fuel. Those looking for a sportier driving experience can opt for a more powerful 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine that will offer approximately 10 percent more performance according to the Japanese automaker.

Then there’s the new Fit Hybrid which has a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle DOHC i-VTEC engine mated to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. Combined with an internal high-output motor and Intelligent Power Unit (IPU), the Fit Hybrid delivers fuel economy of 36.4 km/L, which is the highest in Japan for a hybrid vehicle.

The Fit also receives a newly-designed chassis that gives it a sportier driving experience while maintaining a smooth and stable vehicle posture. According to Honda, “The result is a combination of stable steering, handling performance with a steady feel and a comfortable ride with minimized vibration.”

Finally, there’s the Fit’s all-new design, which features the brand’s new “Exciting H Design!!!” design language and is the first to make use of the new corporate “solid wing face” grille.
