Toyota’s Texas truck plant located on the south side of San Antonio has hit a milestone, manufacturing its one millionth vehicle.
The plant currently builds both the Toyota Tundra and Tacoma, producing the Toyota Tundra half-ton pickup since October of 2006 while Tacoma production was added in 2010. The plant employs 2,800 people while 21 on-site suppliers employ an additional 2,900 workers.

Engines for both trucks are also built in the USA at Toyota’s Huntsville, Ala., engine plant, while Toyota’s transmissions come from Durham, N.C.
The one-millionth truck assembled was a 2014 Tundra 1794 Edition finished in Sunset Bronze Mica.
