The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has just released its safety rating for the 2014 Mercedes-Benz M-Class, adorning the SUV with the accolade of ‘Top Safety Pick Plus.’
The Institute’s newest crash test, the small overlap, gave the M-Class the most trouble, as two of the categories within this test were rated at ‘acceptable,’ though that didn’t stop the overall small overlap rating from being ‘good.’ In a small overlap crash situation, the IIHS says that injuries to the driver’s lower left leg can occur.
