Fiat 500L SEMA Concepts Prepped for Surf and Turf

Fiat has revealed two custom versions of its 500L urban runabout at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, attempting to give the urban runabout a little more off-road cred.

Representing both “surf” and “turf” the 500L Adventurer is built to leave the beaten path, while the 500L Thalassa is designed as a beach cruiser.

The former gets a rugged look thanks to fender flares and rocker panels painted in black, contrasting with the white body and orange roof – which sports Mopar roof rails and a large roof basket. Housed inside the new wheel arches are big 18-inch wheels.

Inside the Adventurer gets black suede seats with orange accents throughout the cabin as well as a list of Mopar bits including a pedal kit, cargo organizer and new door-sill plates.

Performance for the 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder gets a tweak thanks to a Mopar cold air intake and cat-back exhaust.

Switching to the sand is the 500L Thalassa in a Vibrance Bright Orange paint color and unique 18-inch “Beach Cruiser” wheels, that Mopar will begin offering for retail sale.

Sporting a lowered ride height, the Thalassa also gains Mopar roof rails, perfect for holding a surf board.

Inside is where things get particularly interesting with a wetsuit material used for the seat construction, as well as the rear cargo area. There’s also water jug for a quick rinse-off after hitting the beach, and even a towel rack.

Along with a host of other small touches, like the off-road 500L, the Thalassa gains a Mopar cold air intake and cat-back exhaust to, “kick up a little more sand.”
