2014-Ram-1500-Truckoftheyear

Absent from the market for years, Ram has reintroduced a diesel engine into the half-ton truck segment, which helped to make our Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Review the ninth most popular this year.

The new 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine makes a gas-engine like 240 hp, but packs a massive 430 lb-ft of torque, making this motor more than competitive with its V8 rivals. The beauty of the diesel however is the fuel economy, which beats out every other truck on the market by around 2 to 3 mpg. All these factors helped the 1500 EcoDiesel take home the distinction of AutoGuide.com Truck of the Year.
