Aston Martin Gas Pedal Recall Expands by 5,000

Aston Martin is expanding an earlier recall to include 5,001 more models with fragile gas pedals that might break.

Originally, the company issued a recall affecting 689 models for the same issue. Now the brand is expanding it to include a much longer list of vehicles. If the pedal breaks, Aston Martin says the engine will return to idle and the driver won’t be able to increase or maintain engine speed.

The company is currently notifying owners of the defect and will replace affected gas pedal assemblies free of charge. Aston Martin says the recall campaign is expected to begin on February 7.
