Porsche 911 GT3 owners will be able to drive their sports cars again soon.

The German automaker contacted customers who bought the 991-generation 911 GT3owners of the 911 GT3, saying production of the replacement engines will begin the week of April 22 and those engines will be distributed worldwide in all 991-generation GT3 models built to date. The installation of the new engine will be fully documented and Porsche will give owners a certificate to that effect.

In addition, all owners will receive a one-year warranty extension and will be receiving some form of compensation for having to park their vehicles while a fix was being developed. Porsche said a company representative will reach out to owners individually to discuss specifics of the compensation.
