Subaru has confirmed it is planning another generation of its lightweight, affordable sports car the BRZ.
Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, president of Subaru’s parent company Fuji Heavy Industries told Automotive News that there will be a second-generation BRZ. “It’s not going to be just one generation,” said Yoshinaga.

The fate of the car was questioned after a report surfaced last week claiming that Toyota was going to ditch Subaru to collaborate with BMW on the next-generation of the FR-S, which would spell the end for the BRZ. Toyota and BMW are working together on a new car, but that is likely to be a more powerful sports car that will sit above the FR-S.
Both the FR-S and BRZ are dependent on the partnership between Fuji and Toyota as Fuji manufacturers the cars, but Toyota sells them in much higher volumes.
