Volkswagen has revealed a new Subaru fighter.
The German automaker has revealed its Golf Alltrack ahead of the wagon’s debut at this year’s Paris Motor Show. The new Golf Alltrack will be a smaller sibling to the Passat Alltrack and will include the automaker’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. Sporting a rugged, off-road inspired look, the Golf Alltrack features higher ground clearance, wheel arch moldings and flared side sills that offer body protection.

It’s currently unknown if the Golf Alltrack will make its way to the U.S., but Volkswagen in the past has expressed its desire to compete with the Subaru Outback, which is one of the Japanese automaker’s most popular models in the country. For its European launch, the Golf Alltrack will be offered with four powerplants: a 1.8-liter turbo gasoline engine with 178 hp, a 1.6-liter turbo diesel with 109 hp and a pair of 2.0-liter TDI diesel engines with either 148 hp or 182 hp.
For now, the German automaker has only announced that the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack will go on sale in the U.K. by summer 2015.
