The man who developed the exotic Ferrari LaFerrari has been hired by BMW.
Roberto Fedeli, Ferrari’s former technical director has been scooped up by the German automaker, though his role in the company has not yet been specified. Fedeli left Ferrari on September 13 of this year and his leaving was not linked to the resignation of Ferrari’s long-time chairman, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo.
Fedeli has been responsible for the engineering of every Ferrari model made from 2007 to present, with his most recent project being the LaFerrari hybrid supercar. At BMW, Fedeli may work with the M performance division or with Rolls-Royce according to sources inside the company.
Fedeli will join the BMW Group in November.
