The second-generation Chevrolet Volt has bowed at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.
Teased at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, the American automaker has officially unveiled the next-generation Volt boasting an electric-only driving range of 50 miles. Featuring an all-new powertrain, the 2016 Volt has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine combined with electric motors to provide a total system output of 149 hp and 294 lb-ft of torque.

Built new from the ground up, the 2016 Volt will weigh slightly over 3,500 lbs and is capable of going 0-60 mph in 8.4 seconds. Pricing and availability on the 2016 Volt hasn’t been announced yet, but it will likely go on sale later this year.
