The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt will go into production in late 2016 and could just change the auto industry for good.
As the American automaker’s first long-range electric vehicle built from the ground-up to be an EV, the Chevrolet Bolt will ride on a 102.4-inch wheelbase and has the appearance of a compact crossover. Up front, LED headlights wrap around the front edge to the front fascia, giving it a surprisingly aggressive style. The rear features LED tail lights that have been integrated into the full-width liftgate.
The Chevrolet Bolt will offer seating for five passengers and boasts 16.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat. The cabin also has a 10.2-inch touchscreen, connected center console with side-by-side cupholders, a wireless charging location and a sliding armrest that covers a storage compartment large enough to store a tablet device.

Chevy has already promised a range of at least 200 all-electric miles with a price in the $30,000 range. According the brand’s consumer website, the Bolt will cost $37,500 to start, which after federal tax credits brings the price to $30,000.
Currently most electric cars offer closer to 100 miles of range. Putting an electric car on the market, at an affordable price point, with a range this significant, could make the Bolt the most popular EV ever.
“We were given a blank canvas – a rare opportunity with a unique platform to recast EV design for customers across the spectrum,” said Stuart Norris, managing director of design. “The team answered the challenge with a progressive design distinguished by dramatic graphics and exceptional passenger space.”
