Toyota has given its new Tacoma the TRD Pro treatment.
Bowing at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show is the 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, a more off-road capable variant of the designed pickup. All of the Japanese automaker’s existing TRD Pro models are Baja-inspired off-road racers and the Tacoma is no different. Sporting a new 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood with 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, the Tacoma TRD Pro can be had with either a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.

Helping make it desert ready are FOX 2.5-inch internal bypass shocks on all four corners, TRD-tuned front springs that left the truck by an inch, progressive-rate off-road leaf springs and four-wheel drive with Toyota’s automatic limited-slip differential.
To enhance its appearance, the Tacoma gets 16-inch black wheels wrapped with Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain tires, a skid plate, projector beam headlights and black TRD Pro badging all throughout the truck.
