The new Lexus flagship coupe will have more power than it originally debuted with.
The Lexus LC 500 was introduced at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, powered by a 5.0-liter V8 with 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque. But now, Lexus LC chief engineer Koji Sato revealed at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance that the coupe will actually have 471 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque when it arrives in dealerships sometime next year. The performance boost comes from improvements to the car’s intake and exhaust, said Sato.

It’s not a massive change of any sort, but does push the LC 500 closer to the 500-hp mark. The powerplant will be mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and it will likely retain the same zero-to-60 time of 4.5 seconds that was first announced when the car debuted.
