In a surprising move, Chrysler will not debut a new model at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show.
Next year will be the first time in seven years the company will not reveal a new car or truck in Detroit. Instead, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will reveal a new vehicle at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, suggesting its debut will be high-tech and possibly tied to its relationship with Google.
The automaker won’t sit out the show altogether, however, and will still have a presence showing off its lineup at the convention center.

FCA spokesman Rick Deneau declined to say what the automaker has planned for CES, but the automaker did announce a partnership with Google in May to develop and deploy 100 self-driving Pacific minivans. Automotive News reports that FCA plans on debuting a fully-electric Chrysler Pacifica at CES.
Both GM and Ford are planning to reveal new models at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, along with BMW, Honda, Lexus, Nissan and Toyota.
