2019 ford mustang bullitt

The first production 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt has crossed the auction block, selling for $300,000 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Not long after making its official debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the new Ford Mustang Bullitt was featured at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, with actor Chad McQueen on stage helping get the bidding started. All $300,000 from the auction will benefit Boys Republic, a private all-boys school for troubled adolescents in California. Actor Steve McQueen, who famously starred in the movie Bullitt, attended Boys Republic.

Although official pricing for the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt hasn’t been announced, it’s a safe bet that $300,000 will be around six times the retail price of the Bullitt.

Based on the Ford Mustang GT Premium with the Performance package, the Bullitt adds a Torsen limited-slip differential, larger rear sway bar, Brembo six-piston front brakes, and a bigger radiator. While it does have the same 5.0-liter V8 engine under the hood, it has been tuned to generate 475 horsepower, an increase of 15 hp over the standard GT. Torque stays the same at 420 pound-feet.
