Aston Martin is hard at work developing the replacement for the Vanquish.
The British automaker has already confirmed the Vanquish’s replacement will be the DBS Superleggera, with the two-seater sports car set to to arrive in the second quarter of this year. Ever since the Vanquish’s original launch in 2001, Aston Martin has alternated between the Vanquish and DBS nameplates for its range-topping supercar, and this generation will be no different. As expected, a Volante convertible variant will be part of the lineup, which is evident by the prototype spied testing by our photographers.

Although this is just a mule, you can see some of the aerodynamic components Aston Martin is developing for the DBS Superleggera. In terms of styling, it shouldn’t hold very many surprises when it debuts. Expect the DB11 to influence the DBS Superleggera’s design, which will be more aggressive due to the more hardcore aerodynamics.
Under the hood, there should be a more advanced version of the 5.2-liter V12 engine currently used by the DB11. Look for the DBS Superleggera to offer around 700 horsepower.
