Cadillac has unveiled that its maiden electric vehicle will be called the Lyriq. The luxury carmaker’s first-ever electric offering will be an SUV. The SUV was supposed to make its debut in LA in April but the debut has been delayed indefinitely for now. The Lyriq will be underpinned by GM’s new BEV platform. It will be paired with the new Ultium battery technology produced in collaboration with LG Chem.
The first vehicle to feature the Ultium technology will be the GMC Hummer which is set to be reborn as an electric truck. It will feature 1000hp and equally ridiculous amounts of torque. The details of the Lyriq remain scant, though it will probably go on sale by fall next year.
